Tugboat

For Scott AFB FamCamp: My wife and I stopped here thinking it was going to be a disaster. OMG boy we're we in for a surprise..... The base itself is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL well kept little gem near Shiloh Illinois. Campground was tucked away from the hustle and bustle and the BX & commissary we're an absolute delight. We will definitely come back here and stay much longer next time.

For Scott AFB FamCamp: Stopped for one night while driving through. Really beautiful camp area with nearby lakes, running/walking trails. Our campsite was a backin site and our water hook up didn't work so we had to hook up to the faucet next door that wasnt being used. Bathrooms were old but clean. My sister tried to shower at the same time as the other shower was on and had no water pressure and had to wait. Honestly, for $20 and one night it was worth it. It was quite loud at night with trains, plains and owls but that's mostly to be expected on base.

MAGNUM

For Scott AFB FamCamp: This is undoubtedly the absolutely worst experience we've ever had with the FamCamp or any other campsite. Made reservations over two months ago and verified them again two weeks ago and when we arrived we found they had no record of us at all. They do not send out email confirmations of any reservations and they wing it using it and Excel spreadsheet. Management was discourteous and I had to call the Commander of the services squadron to make a complaint. Will never go back near Scott Air Force Base and do not recommend this for anyone going through. I've never been so abused as a military retiree.

Apex 300BHS

For Scott AFB FamCamp: Water and electricity was reliable and steady without issues. No sewer available at sites. Nice metal picnic tables, and grills. Shower houses were clean, and had hot water- with push button controls. Toilets were metal- kinda cold in the mornings! Staff from outdoor recreation was very friendly, and helpful. Small lake had small fish. Campground was quiet with the exception of daily trains and planes. Dominos pizza delivers!

For Scott AFB FamCamp: Rundown, some sites back in some head in, muddy, unkept

For Scott AFB FamCamp: Second review; stayed 3 nights here and was placed at site 23. Tighter fit than last years spot and way less space. Antenna was not able to pick up any stations. May have been due to the rainy weather or possibly because this site was right on the woods. Very in level, falling to the rear, but it is paved. No improvements have been made here; in fact it is in worse condition. Bath/shower rooms were in rough shape. Men's restroom soap dispenser was broken off the wall; doors and windows kept cracked which allows bugs to get into facilities. Laundry room does not have a change maker, so you have to go to the other side of the base to break change. Multiple bulbs burned outside shower facilities. Left ICE comment with FSS when ODR staff could not answer basic questions, but never given a response by supervision. They have no education on the FamCamp amenities or site locations. Still very quiet and still has lots of potential, but this location is unfortunately neglected.

Carl

For Scott AFB FamCamp: This is a great location, quiet, clean; however, not very well managed. The 30amp breaker wouldn't hold so had to use a 30-50amp adapter. No 24/7 number to call for trouble calls. With just a little more attention by SAFB Recreation and this would be a five star camp.
