For Gilbert Ray Campground Tucson Mountain Park: Important: New reservation system is nightmare!!! Not user friendly. When you make res with fees you aren’t guaranteed the site during “summer season†till Dec 1. Website states if your res site is taken (fcfs have priority) then take an empty site — come on, this isn’t right — Pima Co doesn’t know what they’re doing!!! Also, site poachers roam in after dark, leave at sunrise — not safe & no gate to discourage bad behavior. This management style puts campers in jeopardy so I left. Beware!

For Gilbert Ray Campground Tucson Mountain Park: One of my favorite AZ parks. Note: the park now is a reservation park not a first come first serve. They do have a few of non reserveable site in loop H at this time. Beware, the webpage for reservations is not user friendly

Gabe
For Gilbert Ray Campground Tucson Mountain Park: Excellent campground. No generators. Close to provisions. We needed to restock and have the truck worked on at precision toyota. Also a great experience. Only bummer was no showers but hard to beat the scenery

Mikedaley
For Gilbert Ray Campground Tucson Mountain Park: This is a beautiful place to stay near Desert Museum and Saguro NP. Sites are not all real level but workable. Electric so no generators running. Widely spaced sites, mist backing up to the desert.
