Chet and Terry

For Gilbert Ray Campground Tucson Mountain Park: We absolutely love this parK. Very clean throughout including restrooms. Sites are only electric but water spickets are everywhere and there is a dump station on premise. The views are spectacular and the sunsets are so very amazing. The cactus is everywhere The only drawbacks are no reservations and you can only stay 7 days.

Bohdi

For Gilbert Ray Campground Tucson Mountain Park: Great campground and well run. Close to Old Tucson, Desert museum, international Wildlife Museum and Saguaro Nat Park, West. Definitely stay again.

Daveanddar

For Gilbert Ray Campground Tucson Mountain Park: Loved this place. While it didn't have all the modern ammenities, it had what we needed. It had a very chill vibe and the most gorgeous sunsets. It was located close enough to Tucson but felt very far away in a good way. We will be back.

Laura

For Gilbert Ray Campground Tucson Mountain Park: This facility is highly rated as a five star place on Campendium. We came here due to its proximity to the National Park and given the place's reputation had high expectations. At first we were a little disappointed, but as we stayed for a few days, we came to like it more. This is a place that should be rated for its proximity to the National Park (west site) and the Tucson Mountain Park, Gates Canyon Road and the best: Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum. The Museum is a MUST SEE and just a mile or two away. The grounds of the camp are basic in terms of services, as the bathrooms are spaced far apart, no showers, in fact we did not use them at all. We had a 30 amp hookup and no water. We stayed for a week, which is the maximum you can stay. This place is full almost all of the time, but it has a calm vibe, everyone seems to just enjoy the scenery. Lots of cactus in the camp, so your pets have to be well contained. And, the best part besides the Sonoran Desert Museum, is that the park has lots of great birds that walk through your site in the mornings and evenings, some bunny rabbits, too, and the BEST SUNSETS! Prepare for and avoid pack rat infestations by putting lights under your rv, and open your truck/vehicle hoods and add lights there too.

Not sure if we will come back here, too much more to explore in Tucson. But it is worth at least one visit.

Just a Camper

For Gilbert Ray Campground Tucson Mountain Park: Loved this campground. Very affordable for $20 with electric. You're camping right in the middle of the Saguarro's, very scenic. The sites are large. No showers is the only negative.
It's close to Saguarro National Park, the Sonora desert museum and old Tucson.

J-Dog

For Gilbert Ray Campground Tucson Mountain Park: $20 a night, nice and quiet in the evening, during the day you may have aircraft noise and there is a gun range you can hear in the distance.
Great scenery I would stay here again.
Our stay in early November; the weather was great and the park was only about 15% filled.

Hank

For Gilbert Ray Campground Tucson Mountain Park: Staff was unresponsive to requests to have an adjacent camper discontinue running his generator, which supposedly is not permitted.Besides, all sites are electric, so why run a generator? Duh!
