For Pio Pico RV Resort and Campground: Under new management who have been hiring rude staff. It's sad to see the park become so uncomfortable for people. Do not come here or you have work or school. Don't give jabba internet your money. They have been taking money from innocent campers for years and it doesn't work. Avoid PIO Pico.

For Pio Pico RV Resort and Campground: PROS: this is the only reason I gave 4 stars. the staff is awesome and very responsive. CONS: Area on south side is OK and I didn’t even dare go to the North Side after reading the reviews. If you work online, don’t come here! AT&T had a little service and that was with a wi-fi booster. I was told Verizon works here, well it doesn’t and neither does Sprint/T-Mobile I hate the parks that tell you first-come first-served and have you drive around like a fool looking for a spot. Especially, to find out that you requested a 50-Amp, but there isn’t any available!! (The staff went above and beyond to help, after the fact). Kinda ridiculous that the country store is only open Friday-Monday. Hello! We are here all week. If you want a package delivered you have to $15 to get a locker and it’s an annual subscription. We will be here three weeks. Why would we do that? Other info: The cabins on South side were all tidy. We are self-contained so don’t need bathrooms or laundry but they looked fine. Pool was open but didn’t use.

Nick

For Pio Pico RV Resort and Campground: We spent 7 days on the north electric and water only sites. Had good paid service WiFi. Bathrooms had just been renovated and were nice. Highly recommend using a tote tank if you stay on the north side. Had to put name on a list to get full hook ups on the south side. Wasn’t interested after setting up. Pools were clean and playgrounds were in ok condition. Laundry rooms had new machines (require prepaid card at main laundry facility on south side). It was a bit pricey for our liking. Country store was well stocked. Activity center was closed due to COVID. Overall campground was alright. We enjoyed being out of San Diego but still a 20 minute drive to town.

For Pio Pico RV Resort and Campground: Worst park we’ve ever seen. Staff is friendly and helpful but that’s the only positive. It is crazy to require you to drive around looking for an empty site after check-in, many were out for maintenance and all the full hookups were occupied. We setup in the partial hookup and then wandered around until we found a full hookup site the next day. Everything is old and broken down. Don’t recommend!

Reditch

For Pio Pico RV Resort and Campground: I honestly can’t recommend this RV park to anyone. Unless you are willing to put your name on a list and wait at the ranger station for the drawing, you are stuck on the North side. Cramped sites, facilities that don’t appear to get even routine maintenance and trash cans that are always full. It is really evident that any funds they get are spent on the South side. Cell service is nonexistent going into and at the park. For a 1000 Trails facility very disappointed.

For Pio Pico RV Resort and Campground: If you have ever felt like your kids and family where not going to be safe and you knew you were not going to be able to sleep at night. This is how I felt at Thousand Trails Pio Pico. Don’t let the Pictures fool you; Yes, the South side of the camp is a great place to be, I’m Sure. With all the amenities and security of the staff being there. Its possible you will feel safe. But you are not allowed to setup on the south side when you arrive. You have to go to the northside, well from what I can see the northside section H is where most people head to because of this; but, my family and I, where forced into section G, which looked like a rundown trailer park where trailer and RV’s go to die. If you’re going to stay at Pio Pico you better have a toilet, shower, and be selfsustained aboard your rig. This we were not. We Picked a spot next to the bathroom and next to a nicer looking rig in section G. After setting up our Popup Trailer my son needed to use the restroom. This is where we found out the condition of the restrooms in Trailer Park section G. The showers had not heads, handles, or curtains to take a shower; if one was brave enough to do it in section G, in the first place. Though the bathroom looked clean and where stocked with paper and hand towels, the walls looked old and falling apart. Likewise, the sink looked as if a mechanic washed his oily and grease hands in it every day and cleaning it was not going to be enough. I have spent my whole youth and tricenarian “Ruffing it” via backpacking, dry camping, and Tent camping. So not taking a shower is not the worst thing in the world. But when the other people around you look like they live their full time and some even looked a little shady. While some are doing drugs, because we could smell it, and come out of there campers spun out and half naked. It takes ruffing it and turns it into a borderline safety issue. As dawn came and we decided that it was not a smart idea to stay here. We started breaking down all of our stuff and packing up the trailer, because it was either head home or find a new camp ground. While in the middle of packing up we over heard the people in the trailer next to us saying “I’m not going to buy that for you, they have it you should have stolen it while you had the chance.” We pulled out of there and we lucked out as we got reservations for another RV park. As a member of TT and spent my whole childhood with TT, I am appalled that this TT Park has come to this low of standards. As a child we went here a few times and never had anything close to this lack of management. I would not recommend this for anyone whom has children or whom may leave you rig unattended for the day or longer. If it is better in section H I hope they can make changes to the camp grounds to fix and improve section G. My family will not be returning. And I hope no one runs into this at TT.

For Pio Pico RV Resort and Campground: This is only a half star! We are new to raving and had been given a gift membership to Thousand Trails... one I will not purchase after this experience. We arrived after traveling thru the desert and down mountainous roads and were ready to unwind st this “resort” campground, only to learn, everything is on first come basis— regardless of reservation. We were welcome to drive thru and find an unmarked spot or go across the street to an area with no amenities. The sites are gravel, border patrol is circling the campground and helicopters at night. There is no WiFi... they say there is st the clubhouse but it does not work. There are many permanent TVs there...with apparently no requirement on maintenance or appearance; if I had children with me, it was the kind of place where you would fear they would be kidnapped or harmed. We left immediately the next day. What an awful place. I have forwarded this review to pop pico and thousand trails. We found a lovely place in Escondido. Safe and clean, landscapes and a resort
