For Leasburg Dam State Park: We stayed here for two weeks in the beginning of May. We were on the Cactus Loop, Site 19. We are in a 40' fifth wheel and had plenty of room. It is a beautiful park, well maintained, right on the Rio Grande. Don't miss the trail along the river. There are lots of birds. When we were there they released water from Caballo so we were able to see water flowing rapidly in the Rio Grande. It is close to Las Cruces. We will stay here again.

Clare

For Leasburg Dam State Park: About 20 minutes from I10. Very quiet. Large sites. I was in Greasewood 10. Covered picnic table. I’m sure you need the shade much of the year but not today with high of 50 and low of 25. Very clean and tidy park the front gate is locked at sunset but campers are supplied with a gate code on the reservation tag at their site. Not sure how you would get in if you arrive after sunset. Walking trails are short but pleasant. My site had no services and was $10. A bargain. Would stop again. I booked the day before online. You can scan a Q code when you get here if you haven’t made a reservation in advance. Dump but no potable water at dump. Some sites have water and electric. 90% full tonight.

For Leasburg Dam State Park: Stayed one night in our converted Ford Transit in February, booked online the day of. Good stop. The trail system is very small but it’s a nice walk. Pit toilets in our loop (Greasewood) and a full (unheated) bathroom with showers by the visitor’s center. I didn’t try the shower but was able to get fairly hot water out of the bathroom sink.

For Leasburg Dam State Park: Site 27 Cholla loop Jan.7-11,2022 in truck camper. Site parking spot slight widening in gravel driveway loop with at least one other site close. Site had grill and nice pavilion with electricity and water. Appropriate for a small vehicle and only 14$ per night. Good cell reception with T mobile and Verizon. Helpful staff. Nice view and hiking trails. Only 15 miles to Las Cruces and a good Planet Fitness. Train track near by. I got my reservation close to desired arrival date and had few site choices. Many of the other sites were much more spacious. Loop was small had only about 6 sites and 25, and 26 were pull through and reasonably spacious.

For Leasburg Dam State Park: Short stay here. Level sites. Even had a pull through. Kind of close together. Staff was pretty scarce but really didn’t need anything. Good cellular service. Fort next door is cool. Restrooms were good.
