Merry weather

For Geneva State Park: Geneva State Park is a jewel. My husband and I have camped all over the U.S., staying in State, National & private parks. This is a beautiful park, and one of the best state parks we have been to. At least 1/3 of the campsites have FHU. There is a wonderful playground, centrally located. There are several bathhouses, one of which has a laundry facility. There are 20 premium sites right on the water with an amazing view of Lake Erie. We're only here for 2 nights, headed to the east coast. We will definitely be back.

Ranger Rod

For Geneva State Park: We stayed for 3 nights in February and really enjoyed our time here nestled among the tall trees. I might have missed the notice online but they close all the bathrooms and showers for the winter. The FHU sites are excellent, level and have a concrete pad for the picnic table. The electric only sites were more dirt/muddy around the driveway as the prior review mentions. All the sites have a good amount of space and privacy between them. They took down the Deluxe cabins right on the lake shore and are putting in FHU sites. I’m guessing they’ll open Summer 2023. Definitely reserve a spot there for amazing lake views if you can. We had 2-3 bars Verizon LTE and would definitely come back if we were in the area.

Kingfisher

For Geneva State Park: Camped in our trailer at site #59 for four nights in May. The previous week it had rained and most sites were muddy. The sites across the road from us were underwater. Our site only had electric. We had to sit on the gravel pad since the grass area was muddy. It looked like last years leaves were all on the ground blocking the drainage. This seems to be a problem within the whole park. The restroom by us was old and the shower house was a little better. We did enjoy ourselves by walking to the beach and exploring the wineries. Be aware that there is new construction next door to the park and the heavy equipment starts rolling at 7:30 am. If you are on the east side edge spots this might be very annoying. Next time we will book a full hookup spot. They have a higher pad and patio area.

South Texas Traveler

For Geneva State Park: I wish we could have stayed a few more days. We are social-distancing so did not utilize any facilities other than the dump and got water at the entrance. Staff in office was super nice, park was clean, other campers quiet and friendly. Lake Erie was lovely and no rain do not drainage issues.

JS from NH

For Geneva State Park: Rating for the location. We biked the shore trail every day-even into town. Very touristy. Sites have lousy drainage so lots of mud and standing water. No water on sites but places to fill your tanks before you set up. We stayed in June 2019 in a class A Motorhome. Would definitely stay again just for the area.

Brandin

For Geneva State Park: The camping sites have power except for an open area for walk-in tent campers. But the entire camping section is poorly drained and not very tent friendly. I would expect a state site that charges market rates to put that money into drainage. RV’s are of all sizes and in the several times I have tent camped there everyone is friendly and quiet. But there’s always that guy who gets up with the chickens and uses an impact driver to raise his RV jacks. Sigh.

sachmo

For Geneva State Park: Most sites are shaded, paved and level. Lots of green space in park. Good beach area for walking, rock hunting and sunset viewing. No water at sites so fill up at water point before you park.
