For Emigrant Lake Recreation Area: We have stayed here before but never in August. Trees are getting taller but don’t provide much shade. Lots of Star Thistle with its pretty yellow blossoms and horrible thorns. Showers are ok-looking a bit on the dirty side but still work fine. Bathrooms fine. It was unfortunate that the sheriff had to be called two days in a row to deal with someone creating a problem. Camp hosts were right on top of the situation . No safety issues, though. Lake level is much lower than in the past but people were enjoying it with paddle boards . As mentioned by others, no WiFi or cable. But good ATT reception. Close to Ashland.

Diane

For Emigrant Lake Recreation Area: We so wanted to love this place after seeing pictures. The lake is almost completely dry and since there is no one manning the front gate, several cars just cruising around and not of the good intentioned. We originally signed up to be here three days but will be leaving after one. Nothing is open either within the park but wished so updates around lake conditions had been provided. The staff we interacted with on the phone and that do keep an eye on the sites were all courteous.

Bill Coady

For Emigrant Lake Recreation Area: Have stayed here twice in last two years. Found campsite to be excellent, clean, scenic. Don’t use the camp restrooms so can’t comment on them. We stayed in the RV park loop on site 21 both trips (Jan 2019 and Jan 2020). A nice full hook-up pull through with just the lake as a view. Can’t see any other campers from this site unless we look back up the hill. Excellent location that allows easy access to Ashland, Jacksonville, and Medford. We visited a number of wineries in the area. Cheers!

Plain Brown Tabby

For Emigrant Lake Recreation Area: Stayed in the RV park late October on our way down to our winter boondock site in Arizona. We have a 28' TT with no slides, easily found a nice spot. Every place has a good view, the showers are excellent. The lake is way down there somewhere!

DSVT

For Emigrant Lake Recreation Area: We were looking for a quick, inexpensive place to stop in the general area that was not right on I-5. We're self-contained in our 25 foot MH and don't use the facilities except for an occasional shower. We stayed on a weeknight in early October. Emigrant Lake Rec Area actually has 2 CGs. Oak Slope includes primitive sites while The Point includes full hookups. We stayed at Oak Slope. The campsites are nicely arrayed on 3 loops and tiered so that most have nice views and privacy. The sites are generously sized although the paved parking pads tend to be long and narrow so good for tents and smaller RVs. There are trees throughout providing shade and privacy. The rest rooms are clean with flush toilets and hot showers. There're good ATT and Verizon cell signals.

Cookster

For Emigrant Lake Recreation Area: Emigrant Lake RV Park is a Jackson County government facility located a few miles south of Ashland Oregon. Most campsites are either located on the lake or a step up the hill with great views of the lake. Each has full-service hookups, but there is no WIFI nor cable TV. The lake is gorgeous, though not full when we were there, and there are many beautiful mountain views as well. There are hiking trails and lots of easy places to walk. The sites are spaced out moderately (not tight but not wide), where you get some but not total privacy. Boaters use the lake for fishing and skiing and we also witnessed the local college rowing crew practicing on the smooth waters. Ashland is a town known for its Shakespearean festival, Southern Oregon University and great little restaurants. Just off I-5, this campground is worth making a reservation to experience southern Oregon.

JohnJet

For Emigrant Lake Recreation Area: RV section of this county park is great, overlooking the lake. Fun to watch boaters. Huge wooded day use area adjacent. A few welcome shade trees between the RV sites. Clean restrooms with private showers. If it had WiFi it would rate 5 stars.
