It’s a free park that allows both tents and RV’s. It’s along the South Llano River with no designated spots or signs. Lots of traffic through the park but otherwise quiet with a handful of other guests. I didn’t come for the amenities but I’ve heard they’re decent with a playground, basketball courts and bathrooms that night be questionable. But FREE and easy to find.

Con: no electricity. It was hot!
Also, no designated campsites, so we weren't really sure if we should camp where we did. This looks like a great park for kids. Felt a little uncomfortable camping right by where people drive by, and so close to the playground. But you really can't beat free. I've paid for much worse places.

Sadly, this park is closed for the foreseeable future. We pulled I on Oct. 14 and found that a massive flash flood had devastated the park destroying several RVs and leaving five people dead or missing. The two women we met there told us the story then referred us to the North Llano RVPark where we were welcomed and spent a peaceful but troubled night given what we had just witnessed. North Llano gets the five star review.

Nice city/county park on the Llano River. Lots of activity on Sunday afternoon with familys having a great time. Quiet when it got dark. Police drive through which is always a good thing. Easy to find a large level site right on the bank of the river.

This is a very nice county park with free dry camping for three days and situated along a creek with a spillway. The roads may have a dip or two but very drivable, trash cans scattered about plus tables. I just found a level spot and parked. I would gladly stop again. Verizon coverage is 1x 3g. Texting was even difficult but we lived through it ( first world issue ha ) for a free night. Try Lum's BBQ, delicious pulled pork, beef brisket and ribs. Thanks Junction.

Thank you Allstays! This is a beautiful FREE park right by the water! We filled up with water at the Reststop near Sonora, prior to heading to this fabulous park. We only stayed overnight, but would have enjoyed staying longer! (The three day max) we will definitely be back and enjoy another gorgeous sunset and/or moonrise!

Thanks to Allstays for the tip on this great free park! We were only campers. Slight highway noise but otherwise very quiet & peaceful spot to sleep. Friendly city official did stop us from filling our RV water tank, explaining the water is just for day use. He did encourage us to come back & stay up to 3 days. Bathrooms temporarily closed for repairs. Very little signage & unmarked sites. Great spot, would definitely use again!
