For Palmetto Island State Park: A very good park... typical state park. No sewer but level well maintained sites. In lush swamp land.

For Palmetto Island State Park: Fantastic campground! Well maintained, clean facilities. Nice level spots. We rented a canoe (very reasonable $) and did all the canoe trails with our 5 and 7 year old daughters. We also walked the nature trails. Even though it is winter, we saw one gator and were super excited about that. Will come back when it's warmer!

For Palmetto Island State Park: Passing through the area and found this state park. Wonderful area, nice big level campsites with 50,30,and 25 amps plus water. Some with tent pads. Very clean nice bathrooms and laundry. If you don't like birds, don't come. They don't make a mess and will sing all day long. Awesome. Do take the main road to get here. Back roads will jar your teeth. Glad we stopped for two nights. Relax and enjoy.

Sunnycove

For Palmetto Island State Park: Very nice park. Electric and water hookups for $18 a nite. Large sites and mostly far apart with lots of vegetation between sits and lots of wildlife. All very nice and new. Level gravel sites. Spent five days here and park was almost empty. Would highly recommend this park during the week. Weekends may be different as we were leaving Friday the rigs started arriving.

We are here Jan29-Feb 2, 2016 Cost is $24 first night and $18 each additional night. Water and electricity at sites, park has a dump station. Camp hosts are very nice and accommodating. Lots of birds and wildlife around. I would definitely stay here again.

For Palmetto Island State Park: New locale set in dense "jungle" of palmetto and epiphyte-covered trees amid ponds and bayous in the heart of Cajun Country.
